Our friend, Sonia, shares this with us:

Path to Freedom presents A Homegrown Revolution, a collaboration of selective media clips that feature their urban homestead and farm and focus on the need for radical action -- growing food in the city. Start your own homegrown revolution: grow your own food in your back or front yard. For more information, visit the urban homesteaders at PathtoFreedom.com.

Since the early 80s, the Dervaes family of Pasadena has transformed their ordinary city lot into a self-sufficient urban homestead. This short, self-produced music video was shown at Peter Sellars's Cultural Arts class at UCLA, followed by a presentation by urban farmer Jules Dervaes, founder of Path to Freedom. The class focus was on the art of slow food, and among other guests were Michael Pollan, Alice Waters, and Eric Schlosser.

First post - Eat Local One Year

Hello,

I have established this blog so that those of us who would like to talk a lot and read a lot, can do so.

I am certain that I will not have the time to moderate this blog nor respond to much of it. Nonetheless, I think it may be very useful as a place for discussion.

Please, do not use this a way of communicating with me. I may not check it enough.

Let's see.

In health, community and action,
Kris
